I changed the URL but the printed code still goes to the old page.
That means the QR encodes the destination directly (a static link), not a redirect you own. To make it editable, the code must point at a short link YOU control and you change that link's target. You can't edit the destination baked into an already-printed static code. Reprint once using your redirect link, then it's editable forever.
Do I need to pay a subscription to keep my dynamic code working?
Not with this approach. Vendor 'dynamic' codes break when you stop paying because they own the redirect. Here you own it (a domain path or your own shortener) so the code keeps redirecting for as long as your link exists, at no recurring cost to us.
My styled or logo'd code won't scan.
Check the live scan-test badge. Usual causes are low contrast, too small a quiet-zone margin, or a logo covering too much of the code. Raise the contrast, keep the margin, shrink the logo, and set error correction to Q or H when using a logo.
The printed code looks blurry.
Export a vector format (SVG, PDF or EPS) which scales to any size with no pixelation, or raise the raster size to 2048 or 4096px. A small PNG stretched to print size will always look soft.
Get the most out of it
Use a short, memorable redirect path (yourbrand.com/go), it's tidier in the QR and readable as a fallback if someone can't scan.
Set up the redirect BEFORE you print: encode the link, point it at your first destination, then you only ever re-target it later.
Keep the redirect on a domain you'll keep. The whole point is longevity, so avoid a free shortener that might shut down or expire links.
Add a logo and set error correction to H so the code survives a scuff, a coffee ring or a slightly worn print.
Export SVG or PDF for anything printed at scale: vectors stay razor-sharp from a business card to a billboard.
