AI tools can read my page but never quote it
Being readable isn't the same as being quotable. These checks measure whether there's anything on the page a model could safely repeat.
Give the model something specific it can lift. A 2024 study (Aggarwal et al., KDD) tested content edits across 10,000 queries and found adding statistics, quotable statements and cited sources produced the largest visibility gains. Then make each section survive alone, because retrieval hands the model one fragment at a time, not your whole page.

Score the content

Add concrete facts
Replace confident adjectives with measurements, dates, percentages and results. Fact density is the highest-weighted factor for a reason.

- Writing sentences that only work in context. A paragraph opening with 'It also supports…' is clear on your page and meaningless once retrieved alone.
- Using phrases like 'as mentioned above'. A retrieved fragment has no above, so the sentence becomes unusable.
- Burying the answer under a warm-up paragraph. Retrieval judges a passage largely on how it opens.
- Trusting a score with no stated method. If a tool won't show its arithmetic, you can't tell what to fix or whether it's right.
