Edit a confidential document without a cloud service

A confidentiality clause and a cloud PDF editor are a contradiction. Local editing isn't.

The quick answer

Edit the PDF in your browser instead: GigAI's PDF editor loads the document into page memory with pdf.js, lets you edit existing text, whiteout, annotate and sign, and never transmits it - there is no server in the pipeline. For NDA and client documents, that is the entire requirement.

How to fix it

Follow these steps and you'll have it sorted in a couple of minutes.

  1. 1

Open the PDF in the editor

It renders locally with pdf.js; the network tab stays quiet.

  2. 2

    Edit, whiteout, annotate or sign

Click existing text to change it, or use Find & Replace across the document.

  3. 3

    Check what you're leaking

Before sending, run the redaction checker - whiteout that only covers text visually is the classic confidentiality failure.

Common mistakes to avoid
  • Drawing a black box over text and calling it redacted - the text is still in the file. Use the redaction checker to prove what's actually recoverable.
  • Editing in a cloud service and assuming deletion - most keep processed files temporarily, which may already breach an NDA's terms.
