Edit a confidential document without a cloud service
A confidentiality clause and a cloud PDF editor are a contradiction. Local editing isn't.
Edit the PDF in your browser instead: GigAI's PDF editor loads the document into page memory with pdf.js, lets you edit existing text, whiteout, annotate and sign, and never transmits it - there is no server in the pipeline. For NDA and client documents, that is the entire requirement.
4 tools for this
Each one is free, private and runs in your browser. No sign-up, no watermark.
PDF Editor
Edit a PDF in your browser: add text, draw, highlight, drop in a signature, and rearrange or rotate pages, then export. Free, private, no uploads.
Redaction Checker
Check whether a document really is redacted before you send it. Recovers text hidden under black boxes, tracked changes, hidden sheets and speaker notes, a whole set at once, in your browser.
Protect PDF
Add a password and AES encryption to any PDF so only people with the password can open it. Free, fast and completely in your browser.
Remove Metadata
See the hidden data inside a photo or PDF (GPS location, your device, author, dates) and download a clean copy with it stripped. Private, in your browser.
How to fix it
Follow these steps and you'll have it sorted in a couple of minutes.
- 1
Open the PDF in the editor
It renders locally with pdf.js; the network tab stays quiet.
- 2
Edit, whiteout, annotate or sign
Click existing text to change it, or use Find & Replace across the document.
- 3
Check what you're leaking
Before sending, run the redaction checker - whiteout that only covers text visually is the classic confidentiality failure.
- Drawing a black box over text and calling it redacted - the text is still in the file. Use the redaction checker to prove what's actually recoverable.
- Editing in a cloud service and assuming deletion - most keep processed files temporarily, which may already breach an NDA's terms.

More problems we solve
Ran into one of these too? Here's the fix.
- Merge PDFs without uploading them anywhereConfidential paperwork shouldn't take a detour through someone's server just to become one file.
- I need to edit the text in a PDFYou don't need expensive software to change a word or fill in a form. Edit the PDF in place and download the updated file.
- I need to password-protect a PDF (or remove a password)Sending something confidential? Lock it with a password. Received a protected file you own? Remove the password so you can work with it.
