iPhone users scan it and get a web page, not the App Store.
That's expected. A Google Play link is Android-only, and this static code can't detect the scanner's device to redirect. For a single code that routes iPhone users to the App Store and Android users to Google Play, use our App Download QR tool, which takes both store links.
The scan opens the Play Store home page instead of my app.
Your URL is probably missing the listing path. Use the full details link that contains your package id, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.your.app. Not just https://play.google.com or a shortened share URL that hasn't resolved.
The code looks great but won't scan reliably.
Keep strong contrast (dark code on a light background), leave the quiet-zone margin, and don't oversize the centre logo. Watch the live scannability badge, if it warns, raise error correction to Q or H or shrink the logo until it clears.
It scans on my screen but fails on the printed poster.
Export at a higher resolution (1024px or more, or use the vector SVG/PDF) and always test the physical print under the actual lighting where it'll live before committing to a full run.
Get the most out of it
Paste the full details URL with ?id=com.your.app. That package-name link is what guarantees scanners land on your app and not the store home page.
Sample your foreground color from your app icon so the printed code visually reads as 'your app' at a glance, then confirm contrast stays strong enough to scan.
Add a 'Get it on Google Play' or 'Scan to install' frame label so people know what the code does before they even lift their phone. It measurably lifts scans.
Adding your app icon in the centre? The tool bumps error correction for you, but still run the on-screen scan test so the icon isn't covering critical modules.
Export SVG for anything that might be resized later (banners, signage) so the code stays razor-sharp at any print size instead of pixelating.
