  • The converted video has no sound.

    That's expected: a GIF has no audio track, so there is nothing to carry into the video. The output is intentionally soundless. If you need audio, you'll have to add it in a separate editing step. This tool only transcodes the visual frames.

  • The video doesn't loop like the GIF did.

    GIFs bake looping into the file. Standard video relies on the player. Enable loop in your video player, or add the loop attribute to your HTML video tag (and muted + autoplay for feeds). The frames are identical, only the loop behavior lives elsewhere.

  • It's slow, or the tab feels heavy on a big GIF.

    WebAssembly FFmpeg is slower and more memory-bound than a native encoder, and very large GIFs (long or high-resolution) are the worst case. Close other heavy tabs and give it a moment. Extremely large GIFs can exhaust the tab's memory, in which case a smaller source is the fix.
